Smartphone Apps for Spring Cleaning Dylan Duarte April 8, 2011 Spring is here! And with its arrival comes plenty of great things – sunshine, flowers, green grass, birds chirping, the list goes on. I’m an Autumn man myself, but for many this is the most enjoyable time of the year. However, one Spring tradition that not everyone is a fan of is the cleaning ritual that it brings with it. If performed properly, spring cleaning is extensive and exhaustive. And while physical cleaning may not seem like something that can be aided by mobile technology, I beg to differ, bringing you a handful of applications that should make your spring cleaning just a bit easier. Organizing Your Home (Android) Available on the Android Market for a measly $1.35, Organizing Your Home is less than an application and more of an easily accessible ebook. Specifically, it’s a guide to cleaning your house. It will take you room by room, giving you tips and techniques to getting rid of the clutter. Some of it may be very general advice that you’ve heard before, but a reminder never hurt anybody. Organizing Your Home is just a handy reference to have in your pocket at all times. House Maintenance Schedule (Android) Wow, these apps really have self-explanatory names, don’t they? If you were to use the free House Maintenance Schedule to its full extent, spring cleaning probably wouldn’t be the chore of biblical proportions that it is now. This app will help you keep track of everything that needs to be done around the house and let you log when you do each thing, so it can give you an appropriate reminder. If you keep up on it, maybe spring cleaning will become just another week around your already-clean house! Clean Freak Cleaning Schedule (iOS) This $0.99 app available on iOS is similar to the above House Maintenance Schedule in that it helps you keep track of what needs to be done around your messy domicile. Clean Freak, however, puts an emphasis on priority, ensuring that the most important things get done first, while you don’t waste time overdoing it on the little stuff. The Laundry Pal (iOS) Another iOS app available for less than a buck, The Laundry Pal is the best friend you could ask for when it comes to washing your clothes. If you’re like me, and let’s hope that you’re not, you have drawers full of warm weather clothing that you haven’t opening since Summer came to a close last year. If that’s the case, you’re going to spend a good amount of time at the washer and dryer. Laundry Pal gives you not only basic tips on doing laundry, but offers extensive instructions on things like ironing. While these mobile apps should definitely keep you organized, or at the very least give you a much-needed kick in the rear, keep in mind that you’ll get nowhere without some iron-clad willpower. So man up (figuratively speaking, ladies), grab these apps, and get cleaning. Share This With The World!
