Shaw Go WiFi Network Now Open to Non-Customers Too Michael Kwan June 26, 2017 News … but only for a limited time, of course, because giving out free Wi-Fi to everyone forever would be ludicrous. You know, except Telus already does it, but that’s beside the point because even non-Shaw customers will able to share their Canada 150 celebrations via a Shaw Go WiFi access point free of charge. Announced earlier today, Shaw is opening up its Shaw Go WiFi network of 80,000+ access points to all Canadians (and visitors to Canada too, I suppose). Up until now, it’s only been available to existing Shaw customers to get in some free Internet while away from home. There are hotspots just about everywhere, from local businesses to shopping malls. “This Canada Day long weekend, people want to share in the festivities with their family and friends,” said Shaw Communications vice president of external affairs Chethan Lakshman in a news release. “Whether you’re posting pictures, looking up a place to go or getting directions, Shaw Go WiFi will help keep people connected while saving on cellular data usage.” The complimentary access is being offered from now until July 3. To use it, simply connect your WiFi-enabled device to the ShawGuest network wherever you happen to see it. Happy Canada Day, y’all. Remember to party responsibly, eh? Share This With The World!
