The advent of digital cameras has helped immeasurably with getting bad vacation photos, hasn’t it? Used to be you had to wait until you got home to develop your film before you found out that just as you snapped a picture of your family standing in front of some landmark or another, there was a random guy walking by picking his nose. At least now we have the instant ability to delete undesirable photos and try again. But sometimes you really don’t have a choice. Being in a hugely popular tourist area at peak vacation time leaps to mind…you can stand there all day and wait for the perfect opportunity, or you can just suck it up and take the picture including people you don’t know.

Scalado is offering a solution for you that will make it even easier for you to show off your perfect pictures. Remove is an application for smartphones that will allow you to identify and remove moving objects in your pictures. All you have to do is take a picture like you normally would, then use either the automatic or manual modes to remove unwanted people or objects from the frame. The only drawback here is that the objects or people have to be moving for the app to identify them, but it’s still better than having blurry strangers in all your shots.

There is no word on when Remove will be available or what the cost might be (or for which smartphone operating systems, near as I can tell), but Scalado will be showcasing it at MWC 2012.
