SanDisk iXpand Protects iPhone, Adds 128GB of Storage Michael Kwan June 23, 2016 News You know what’s the single greatest thing that has been missing on the iPhone since day one? Expandable storage. If you buy an iPhone with 16GB of storage, you’re stuck with (less than) 16GB of storage for however long you choose to keep it. If you’re rocking an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6s, the SanDisk iXpand could be a worthy upgrade. It’s a protective case that packs in the bonus of more space to stash your music, movies and photos. The crux of the argument here is pretty straightforward. You’ve got an iPhone and you don’t have enough storage capacity to handle all the things you want to save. The SanDisk iXpand connects to your iPhone 6/6s using the Lightning port, wrapping up the rest of the phone in soft rubber and hard plastic to protect it from life’s little nuisances. The accompanying app is used to manage your content. The app will even automatically back up your camera roll to the case memory. We’ve seen other solutions before, like the PhotoFast MemoriesCable and the iStick Lightning flash drive. Having the storage integrated into a case is probably more convenient. I’m not sure if and how you can manage the storage like an external drive on your computer though. To further expand (no pun intended) its functionality, the SanDisk iXpand can pair with an optional 1900mAh battery pack. It’s starts charging your iPhone when it detects a low battery status. The Sandisk iXpand case for iPhone 6/6s, which is apparently not available for the larger “Plus” models, starts at $59.99 for the 32GB version, going up to $99.99 for 64GB and $129.99 for the 128GB. All three capacities come in your choice of grey, blue, red or teal. [youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrdO6TaYZhw] Share This With The World!
