Rumor: Samsung Wants a Smaller Screen on the Galaxy S6 Dylan Duarte February 2, 2015 When it comes to phone size, my philosophy used to be that as long as it still fits in my pocket, bigger is better. That was until I used a friend’s 6.3-inch Samsung Galaxy Mega. Now my philosophy is that as long as it still fits in my hand, bigger is better. My Samsung Galaxy Note 3, with its 5.7-inch screen, is perfect. Samsung doesn’t seem to feel the same way, as they’re looking to actually downsize the screen on their Galaxy S line. The Galaxy S5 sported a 5.1-inch screen, and the current rumors state that Samsung is considering making the screen on the S6 slightly smaller. Two Samsung phones have shown up on an India import/export website, both of which have 5-inch displays. Neither are for retail sale though. One is listed for testing and evaluation and the other research and development. Both of the model numbers, SM-G920V and SM-G920F, have been associated with the Galaxy S6. If the display on the S6 were 5-inches, it would only be .1 inches smaller than the S5’s 5.1-inch screen. And if rumors of a 2560×1440 resolution are true, that would make for one sharp display. The odd bit of news is that, according to French tech site NowhereElse, the S6 will stil be longer overall than the S5, meaning a bigger phone with a smaller display. That isn’t exactly what I had in mind when I said bigger is better. Share This With The World!
