Pop-Up Hot Dog Toaster: Brilliance or Silliness? Beth Snyder November 8, 2011 Extras Honestly, it could go either way. At first blush, this seems like a brilliant solution for those who love a grilled hot dog, yet do not possess the intestinal fortitude to fire up the grill in the dead of winter. On the other hand, my practical side really doesn’t even want to think about trying to clean this thing, and I really don’t mind a boiled or microwaed hot dog. I guess it’s up to you if it’s worth it. According to the marketing, it has a removable hot dog basket and drip tray which make it easy to clean. I remain skeptical. You also get a pair of mini tongs, so you don’t have to worry about burning your fingers to get your processed meat goodness out of it once it’s cooked. It will hold two regular-size hot dogs and two buns at once, and features adjustable heat controls. There is also a cord wrap for easier storage. Retro Series actually has a bunch of different appliances, so if this strikes your fancy you should check out some of their other offerings. Some of them I want, some of them make me giggle. But you could easily outfit an entire kitchen with their stuff if you wanted to. The Pop-Up Hot Dog Toaster sells for anywhere from $20.00 US and up, depending on where you shop and if you mind getting a used one. Source: Geek Alerts Share This With The World!
