Dell sells more than just Dell products and the smartphone market is really starting to pick up steam. While I don’t foresee Dell selling an iPhone or a BlackBerry any time soon, there is word that the computer company will start selling Windows Mobile smartphones from the guys at Pharos. More specifically, IntoMobile is pointing toward the launch of the Pharos 117 and Pharos 127.

The Pharos 117 is the model on the right and I think it bites the style of the HTC Touch Cruise. It’s got a large VGA touchscreen display to go with HSDPA 7.2Mbps, 2 megapixel camera, secondary VGA camera for video calls, aGPS, and Windows Mobile 6.1. The Pharos 127, on the left, has much the same features except it trades the large touchscreen for a smaller display and a full QWERTY keyboard. It also looks a lot like the BlackBerry Curve, don’t you think?

Seeing how Dell doesn’t sell carrier-specific phones (as far as I can tell) and how Pharos isn’t connected to any particular carrier, I have a feeling that the Pharos 117 and 127 will be sold unlocked, unbranded, and unsubsidized.
