Pavlok Bracelet: Shockingly Easy Fitness Beth Snyder July 30, 2014 Extras As I’m sure you’re aware, gadgets that track your exercise regimen are everywhere. Most of them are passive, gathering information such as your heartbeat, breathing rate, steps taken, length of workout, and so forth. They all reward you for accomplishing your exercise goals while also allowing you to compare your workouts with your friends. But some of us need more of a kick in the behind than that, and that is the niche the Pavlok Bracelet aims to fill. At first blush, Pavlok looks just like all the other rubber fitness bands. It connects to an app on your smartphone via Bluetooth like so many others, but that’s where its similarities end. Because Pavlok will shock you to get your butt out of bed and on the road. You set up your criteria for exercising, and when it’s time for you to put down the Cheetos and put on your running shoes, Pavlok will shock your wrist to get you moving. It’s not a severe shock, but rather similar to the static shock you get in winter when you walk across the carpet in your stocking feet and then touch something metal. Of course, as with any exercise regimen, Pavlok requires some commitment from you. An annoying little static shock is not going to get you off the couch if you truly don’t want to go. And reality says you could always just take the silly thing off, in which case it won’t shock you at all. But if you’re serious about exercising and just need a little push, this would be an excellent option. Pavlok is planning a Kickstarter campaign this fall, but you can pre-order now for shipping in 2015 at a cost of $149.95 US. Source: FastCo.Design Share This With The World!
