Tomorrow is Labor Day here in the US, which is a day that means a great deal to me. I try not to be political at all in these posts because it’s simply not necessary and I don’t see the point in offending anyone (which is inevitable in political statements). However, I have been a union member for years, I am midway through my third term as an officer of my union local, and Labor Day is all about the working class. Especially at a time when so many folks are out of work, it is very important for everyone to take a minute out from their barbecues, picnics, parades, etc. and realize just why this day is important as well as how it came about. And now I’ll step down off the soapbox.
