It would seem that NZXT has been much busier than I first thought as they seem to have a new case to show off every other week. To complete the quartet of sub-$100 cases, NZXT now brings to you the Source 220.

The Source 220 is much like the Tempest 210 in that it is a mix of the original two released NZXT cases in these sets. This time the base is the Source lineup and the added features come from the Tempest line. The change you will see between the Source 210 and the new Source 220 is the front panel is mesh instead of a flat panel. This should provide much better airflow for the case, especially the two 120mm fan slots in the front.

The new Source 220 comes in just above its counterpart at an MSRP of $54.99. While priced well, it comes off as a style selection for those who want the mesh instead of a flat front panel. While it is on a $5 difference in price, I feel like NZXT is over saturating the $40 to $60 price range. For more details, click here.

The only difference between the Source 220 and the Tempest 210 is the beveled edges on the latter. While I like having choices, I think we would be better off with fewer, more distinct cases at $15 to $20 price intervals.

NZXT, a company built on realizing the dreams of gamers worldwide, is proud to announce the Source 220. This sleek, brushed aluminum, mid tower chassis delivers optimal airflow for budget-conscious gamers. Priced at under $60, Source 220 delivers the best cooling capabilities in its price range boasting features like steel mesh design, the ability to mount up to 7 fans with one 120mm and 140mm fan included.

Screweless design makes for a pain-free build and easy removal of HDD and optical drives. NZXT also implements a CPU cut-out for easy installation of heatsinks and simplified cable management to enable better airflow inside of the system. Source 220 also includes USB 3.0 capability for high speed data transfer.

“Source 220 is the perfect building block for gamers that don’t plan to invest a lot on a case, but wish to maintain a high level of performance” said Johnny Hou, Founder and Chief Designer at NZXT. “We were able to achieve optimal airflow at a price that won’t break the bank.”
