This is a bit of a sad day for those of us who like to follow mobile news. If you keep up with news on a regular basis, you’re likely well aware that the most exciting news often comes in the form of leaks rather than official announcements. It’s always fun to get news early.

A lot of those leaks came from former Engadget writer Evan Blass, a man better known as @evleaks, a name a lot of you probably recognize. I’m sad to report the end of an era as Blass has decided to “retire” and will no longer be leaking stories.

Blass’s leaks weren’t always correct, but he was honest and quick to own up to any false information. The leaked photos of new devices via the @evleaks Twitter account were always shockingly good quality too. Blass trafficked in quantity, not quality, so he was tenacious if nothing else.

Blass decided to move on from @evleaks after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, an inflammatory disease that affects the brain and spinal cord. He’s decided to pursue another career and doesn’t expect @evleaks to come back. We here at MEGATechNews wish him well.
