The Nintendo Switch is now officially out in the wild. Really, though, the only game that people are playing (in between cow-milking sessions, of course) is Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Thankfully, other treasured franchises are also enroute. In news that will surprise no one yet will excite everyone, Reggie Fils-Aime has formally announced that Super Smash Bros. is coming to the Nintendo Switch.

The Nintendo of America chief operating officer has been making the interview rounds this week, hyping everyone up about the company’s innovative new console. It’s not just a portable and it’s not just a home console. The Joy-Cons aren’t just a single controller and they’re not just dual controllers either. They’re all of that and more. And soon, we’ll be smashing it up with Kirby, Luigi and Animal Crossing Villager too. Presumably.

As part of his many interviews, the Regginator has confirmed that Nintendo is working on bringing streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Video to the Switch. We’re also seeing what’s new in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, a hotly anticipated title that should drop later this week. But when can we expect to get Super Smash Bros. on Nintendo Switch?

Fils-Aime was not quite so forthcoming, but at least we know they’re working on it. In the meantime, we can sit on pins and needles waiting for Super Mario Odyssey and Splatoon 2 too. “We know that the fans love these games, love this content, so stay tuned.”
