New Sony Xperia XZ1 Looks Like Every Other Sony Phone Michael Kwan August 24, 2017 News In smartphone world dominated by Samsung and Apple, it’s hard to stand out from the crowd and carve out your own slice of the mobile pie. Some companies dare to do something different like the MotoMods with Motorola and the squeezable frame with HTC. Sony is going about things differently, because the leaked Sony Xperia XZ1 looks like it’s more of exactly the same thing. Maybe you’re glad to hear that. Maybe you’ve been a fan of the premium design that Sony phones have been rocking for the last several years. And if that’s the case, then the newest leaked official renders of the Xperia XZ1 will have you giddy with familiarity. The Sony Xperia XZ1, as its name implies, is the successor to last year’s Sony Xperia XZ. While practically everyone else is working to minimize the bezels all around, including the top and bottom, Sony is keeping a very sizable chin and forehead around the 5.2-inch display. And that’s just full HD 1080p; no quad HD action going on over here. If you’re hoping to get in on the dual camera action that everyone seems to be doing this year, you’re out of luck too. The leaked render suggest such a single 19MP camera on the back. At least you’re getting top tier with the Snapdragon 835 processor, along with a 12MP selfie camera, waterproof body and a fingerprint-reading power button on the side. There’s word it might come with Android 8.0 Oreo too. But hey, if you liked what Sony did with the like the Xperia X Performance and the Xperia Z5 in years passed and you don’t want to break with tradition, maybe getting more of the same isn’t so bad? Expect the Sony Xperia XZ1 to make its official debut at IFA in Berlin at the end of the month. Share This With The World!
