You don’t have to get the newest and most expensive flagship smartphone in order to enjoy the blazing speeds of a 4G LTE network. The kind folks at Motorola just announced a couple of new phones that slot precisely into that segment. Say hello to the Moto E4 and the larger Moto E4 Plus.

Perhaps the more notable of the two, at least for Canadians, is the Moto E4, because there are currently no plans to bring the Moto E4 Plus to Canada. That doesn’t mean it won’t happen ever, but it does mean that you can still go ahead and find it unlocked online from somewhere else.

Just like the Moto C and Moto C Plus announced a short while back, the Moto E line is all about offering maximum value for minimum money. That’s why the Moto E4 can be had for as little as $200 outright from Freedom Mobile where it will support Band 66 LTE. If you want to buy it from somewhere else, the expected unlocked MSRP will be $249.

Understandably, the specs on the Moto E4are decidedly more budget-oriented, including a 5-inch 720p display and a quad-core Snapdragon 425/427 processor. Expect 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, an 8MP main camera, 5MP front camera, and a 2800mAh battery. On the plus side, you get more premium features like the fingerprint sensor and water repellent coating (read: not waterproof). It also uses micro-USB, not USB-C.

The Moto E4 Plus is almost identical, save for the larger 5.5-inch 720p display and the much bigger 5000mAh battery. Look for both phones to drop June 22.
