LG Unleashes 84-Inch Television at CES 2012 Dylan Duarte January 10, 2012 High definition? Oh that’s cute, but I’m looking for something a little higher than high. Do you have anything in Ultra Definition? And preferably something with a size in the mid-80 inches. My 56-inch Samsung HDTV is one of my most prized possessions, but LG’s new 84-inch Ultra Definition set has promptly put me in my place and made me feel like the proletarian that I am. LG’s newest displays four times the pixels as a 1080p set – yes, it displays a resolution that you can’t actually experience yet because media isn’t quite there. The 3480 x 2160 ultra-def LM9600 will feature 3D, dual-core picture processing, motion-controlled “smart TV” apps, and voice recognition. The set is scheduled for availability in July and at 84, 72, and 60 inches. No price point has been announced as of yet, but expect to trade in a vehicle or maybe even your smallest child. I know you love that kid, but we’re talking eight million pixels here. You can produce more children out of thin air, the same can’t be said for more pixels. via Gizmodo Share This With The World!
