In this Android, iOS, and Windows dominated world, BlackBerry has been struggling to find its place. Rumor has it that they’re employing a new technique: building an Android phone. Hey, if the BlackBerry OS just isn’t cutting it, there’s no shame in going with what works.

Thanks to evleaks, we have what may just be an early photo of BlackBerry’s Android phone, tentatively called the BlackBerry Venice. As you can see from the picture, it has curved edges and, as TechCrunch points out, looks an awful lot like a device that BlackBerry showed off at Mobile World Congress back in March. However, that phone was running BB10.

The phone also had a slide-out keyboard, and based on the picture above it’s hard to tell if this phone does, too. Physical keyboards are becoming something of a relic, so including one would give BlackBerry an advantage when entering an insanely crowded market. However, plenty of this speculation at this point, so we’ll just have to wait and see exactly what the folks at BlackBerry have up their collective sleeve.
