iBuyPower Reveals the Prototype of their $500 Steam Machine Dylan Duarte November 26, 2013 When Valve’s official Steam Machine hits the market in 2014, it won’t be alone. iBuyPower has revealed the prototype for their own Steam Machine, which looks a little bit like a white PlayStation 4, carries the same $500 price tag as the Xbox One, and contains pretty decent PC guts. The box is powered by a multicore AMD CPU and contains an AMD Radeon R9 270 graphics card. It will also come equipped with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a 500GB hard drive and packaged with the Steam Controller. It features an integrated power supply so you won’t have to deal with a cumbersome power brick. The idea of having a gaming PC crammed into a console is no doubt an exciting one, but keep in mind that the box will run Steam OS, so that limits your gaming selection considerably. There’s still a library though and Valve has said that major developers will be putting out triple-A titles for Steam OS in 2014, so they’re coming. Via The Verge Share This With The World!
