Google Pixel Slate Chrome OS Tablet Coming Next Month Michael Kwan September 28, 2018 News At the Made By Google event in New York on October 9, Google is expected to unveil a slate of new products. It’s pretty safe to say that the Pixel 3 will make an appearance. We’re also expecting the Pixel Smartwatch. And after Amazon expanded its Echo lineup, Google is expected to do the same with its Google Home stuff, including a Google Home Hub smart display. And as if all of that were not enough, it looks like we’re getting an update to the Google Pixelbook. But instead of a more traditional laptop form factor, the Google Pixel Slate will be doing the detachable screen game as a Chrome OS tablet. Some of the first details of this new device have already leaked onto the web. The first is the name: Google Pixel Slate. The “Slate” part gives us the sense that this is indeed a tablet, though the final form factor is probably more like a Surface Book. But this is the first official Chrome OS tablet from Google. It’s important to note that this isn’t the first Chrome OS tablet overall, though, as other companies have already given the sector a go. With the Google Pixel Slate, you get that detachable keyboard for a more traditional laptop experience. Aside from that, the finer details are anyone’s guess at this point. We’ll just have to stay tuned to Google’s event early next month. Share This With The World!2 2Shares
