Google Goes After Windows 8 Users Dylan Duarte October 26, 2012 Windows 8 has been released into the wild as of today and time will tell if Microsoft’s OS is a new Windows 7 or a Windows Vista. The Redmond, Washington – based company is aggressively trying to poach Google users with Internet Explorer 10 and Bing, but Google isn’t content to lie back and let that happen. GetYourGoogleBack.com is aimed at Windows 8 users who don’t want to use the pre-loaded Internet Explorer and Bing applications. The website, which is advertised in the below video, takes users directly to the download pages for Google Chrome, as well as the Google search app. From a purely aesthetic angle, everything about Windows 8 looks slick and its siren call is even engaging a Google fanatic like me, so it’s good for Google to jump on this and not only protect their brand but use Microsoft’s launch to their advantage.
