Digital Drain Measures Water Usage Beth Snyder May 6, 2011 By now, most of us are at least making a small effort to be environmentally friendly, and something this simple would make it easy for just about anyone. And unlike many environmental products, this one is actually fairly stylish and could actually fit into just about any decor. Which is pretty rare in this genre…apparently to be friendly to the environment you have to have ugly appliances, at least as near as I can tell. Anyway. This appears to be a concept piece for now, as information is not exactly readily available on Roca’s website, but if you really want one I bet you could contact them and find out what you need to do. How it works is really pretty simple: the drain gives a digital reading of how much water you use every time you turn on your faucet. When it’s not in use, it appears to be just a regular stainless steel drain. Measuring how much water you use is a good start toward using less water… after all, knowing is half the battle.
