Computer OS Install Made Easy with Ninite James White May 6, 2011 I like to take a break from the news of tech every now and then just to do something different. You all know Beth as our resident gadget girl, so I will take useful websites you may not know about. Today I would like to introduce you to Ninite.com. Ninite is more of a tool disguised as a website. It was built for one purpose and it does that one purpose very, very well. Ninite is a mass installer/updater; however, that can be far more useful than you might think. I have used this for several things ranging from a reusable care package when I fix people’s computers, to my own personal reinstall buddy. First, you go to Ninite.com and select from among the 40+ most popular programs by simply putting a check beside the one you want to use. It has the top five web browsers, top IM programs, required plugins like Flash for Windows/Non-IE browsers, and dozens of other essential programs. Once you have your personal list of software, you just click on “Get Installer” to have Ninite create a custom Installer just for you. Now that you have your one installer, you use it like any other installer; except this one will install every program you selected with a single click. There is no need to select your OS or if you got 32-bit or 64-bit, because Ninite does that for you as well. It even opts for the 64-bit versions of software when you have a 64-bit OS automatically. If the software is already installed on your system, it will update it for you. This is great for fresh OS installs, brand new store bought computers, or for your parents so you don’t have to worry about them forgetting to get virus protection. Share This With The World!
