Book Lover’s Day Beth Snyder August 9, 2011 Well, look at that! It’s a holiday all about me! I’m willing to share, though, because those of us who love nothing better than to curl up with a good book, who would rather read than watch television, who grew up living vicariously through the written word, are getting rarer and rarer. Sure, there are those who have e-book readers, and more power to you. But there is something about an actual, physical book with pages to turn and the accompanying smell (if you are a book lover, you know what I mean…the smell of a new book is fantastic) that simply cannot be replaced by a gadget. Which of course goes against everything else we stand for here at MEGATechNews, but I’m taking that one indulgence for myself. I’m surrounded by electronics 24/7/365…taking a few hours a day to unplug with a book is necessary for my sanity.
