Avoid a DUI With a New Watch Beth Snyder July 5, 2011 Now, of course no one here is recommending that you have too much to drink and then try to get in your car. But I know that sometimes these things happen. We’ve all seen the commercials warning us that just because you don’t feel drunk it does not mean that you aren’t drunk. This new watch will take the guessing game out of it all, and in the process help prevent you from getting behind the wheel when you really shouldn’t. Small children, dogs, and parked cars (as well as your wallet and reputation) will thank you. The watch has a unique LCD display, and the band is made of stainless steel, making it a fashion statement as well as a functional gadget. The screen is also a touchscreen, so you’ll have an early indication if you’re too drunk to drive based on whether you can hit the correct buttons on its face or not. A touch of one of the buttons opens a port on the side of the watch, which is where you blow to determine your BAC. Your result will show up on the screen, and you can decide from there if you should call a taxi or not. Of course, the watch won’t stop all drinking and driving, but it’s a neat accessory and I’m sure we all know someone who should own one. You should be aware, however, that if you do get pulled over and your BAC is higher on the police breathalyzer, you probably can’t use your reading from the watch to get out of your legal troubles. The police tend to have less than a sense of humour in such circumstances. Unfortunately, this isn’t available yet and there is no indication of when it might be, so I have no pricing information. But you can be sure I’ll be looking for it. Source: Walyou Share This With The World!
