Does a nightlight really need to be that smart? Parents use them to make their kids feel safe and comfortable while they're in bed. I use one to make sure I don't kick my furniture when I get up and stumble to the bathroom in the middle of the night. The Aumi Mini, however, does more than just illuminate. Much, much more.

The Wi-Fi-enabled Aumi Mini lights up your room (or wherever you put it), letting you choose from 16 million colors, and it can notify you about all sorts of things: emails, tweets, the weather, texts, appointments, and much, much more. It can also integrate into your smart home system, which will give it a whole host of different features.

The Aumi Mini has already surpassed its goal of $22,821 with 27 days to go, but there are still plenty of early bird opportunities left if you want to snag one. The cheapest will get you one unit for $20. They're expected to ship in December of this year.
