Asus ZenFone 4 Max Has a Big Battery (And It Cannot Lie) Michael Kwan July 6, 2017 News Some people want the highest resolution displays with the deepest blacks and the most vibrant colors. Some people want to have the greatest performance possible with the most cores and the most RAM. And some people just want their phones to survive the day without reaching for the charger. For that last group, we’ve got the new Asus ZenFone 4 Max and its massive 5000mAh battery under the hood. Asus announced the new phone earlier this week and, aside from the extra large battery, the rest of the specs slot in right around the mid-range. You won’t find the benchmark-busting Snapdragon 835 here, for instance. Instead, you’ll find versions with the octa-core Snapdragon 430 or the quad-core Snapdragon 425. In both instances, you can still expect an impressive 4GB of RAM, along with storage configurations of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB in capacity, plus the microSD expansion slot. Rounding out the spec sheet are the 5.5-inch 1080p display, 8MP selfie camera, and 13MP dual rear camera. This certainly isn’t the first time we’ve seen a phone with a 5000mAh battery. Asus did it a couple years ago and you might remember the THL 5000. More recently, the affordable Moto E4 Plus joined the 5K club too. For the time being, the Asus ZenFone 4 Max is being offered exclusively in Russia with prices starting at RUB 13,900 (about $230 US) for the version with Snapdragon 425 and 16GB. No word on when and if it’ll expand to other markets. Share This With The World!
