ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser Features Fast Focus Camera Michael Kwan November 2, 2015 News And so the smartphone journey for ASUS continues, this time borrowing a page out of the LG playbook. We were first introduced to the ZenFone 2 earlier this year and the line has received a number of variations over the course of a few short months. The newest addition to the collection is the ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser, a smartphone focused on getting your photos as quickly as possible. Whereas the ZenFone Selfie is geared squarely at folks who love self-portraits, the ZenFone 2 Laser is about getting the perfect shot and in focus with the 13-megapixel camera on the back. It comes with what they call PixelMaster 2.0, offering a laser autofocus system that should help your shots snap into focus far more quickly than its non-laser counterparts. If this is anything like the laser autofocus on several LG smartphones, we could have a winner here. As far as the rest of the spec sheet and design, you won’t find any surprises. It doesn’t get the massive battery of the ZenFone Max, making do with just a 3.000mAh unit. Outside of that, you get a Snapdragon 615, Adreno 405 graphics, 3GB RAM, dual SIM slots, 5.5-inch 1080p display, and an improved antenna design for better reception. Expect the ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser to ship in Canada for $269 later this month. It will be made available through NCIX, Memory Express, Canada Computers and Staples.
