Itching to get your hands on a new Chromebook with a convertible form factor, touchscreen display and USB-C connectivity? Apparently, you’ll have to wait just a little longer because the Asus Chromebook C302CA only appeared online briefly before being pulled right back down. But that’s gotta mean it’s coming soon, right?

The eagle eyed folks at Chrome Unboxed jumped at the opportunity to order the C302CA when the touchscreen Chromebook showed up on the Newegg website, but the listing has since been removed. Their order, as of this writing, has not yet been cancelled, so it might mean that Newegg already has the Chromebook C302CA in its warehouses ready to ship.

Initially, we though this Chromebook with USB-C wouldn’t officially reveal itself until CES next month, so it’s quite possible that one of the Newegg minions let the cat out of the bag early.

The $500 Asus Chromebook C302CA is not at all being positioned as a bargain basement option, but it is certainly cheaper than Windows or Mac machines of a similar thin and metal form factor. Under the hood, you’ll find a Core m3-6Y30 processor, 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM, 64GB of eMMC storage, Bluetooth 4.2, two USB 3.1 Type-C ports, microSD slot, and an illuminated chiclet style keyboard.

The 12.5-inch full HD display is touch enabled and can rotate all the way around like how we saw with the Chromebook Flip. Use it in tent mode for watching videos, flip it all the way around to use as a tablet, or just type on it like a regular old laptop.

Some people might still feel limited by Chrome OS, but you aren’t going to get these kinds of specs and form factor in a Macbook or a Windows notebook for $500 any time soon.
