Apple Could Cut Costs with Phones Lacking 3D Touch Dylan Duarte April 27, 2018 News Apple’s 3D touch is a feature you use without realizing it, which makes it very hard to gauge how much it helps. We might get the chance to find out, however, as rumor has it that Apple is working on a new iPhone that doesn’t have the feature. One of the new iPhones in the works is a 6.1-inch model with a new display that uses Cover Glass Sensor technology that makes it lighter and more resistant to impacts. The downside is that it will cost more to produce than the current iPhone displays, leading KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo to speculate that Apple will drop 3D Touch to balance out the costs. 3D Touch isn’t the hottest feature around, so the decision to cut it might be any easy one. Apple may be shifting to CGS for all of its future models, which could spell the end of the feature altogether. Share This With The World!
