Amazon Finally Offers Monthly Prime Subscriptions Dylan Duarte April 18, 2016 News Amazon’s Prime Video has been a serious competitor for Netflix and Hulu for some time now, but the lack of a monthly subscription option put the service out of the reach of some consumers (me, I’m talking about myself). $99 a year equaled out to about the same monthly cost of other streaming services, but having to drop a hundred bucks all at once didn’t make the prospect very inviting. Fortunately, as of the time of this writing, monthly subscriptions are now live. You have options, too! Not only is the annual option still available (which is the cheapest of the three), you also have the option of paying $8.99 a month for just Prime Video access or $10.99 a month for the whole shebang – unlimited music streaming, Kindle Unlimited, free 2-day shipping and all. I shouldn’t have to tell you how valuable the free shipping is if you order anything off of Amazon at all. Funny enough, Netflix just raised the Instant Watch price for long-subscribing members to $9.99, so Amazon’s basic Prime Video subscription undercuts them by one dollar. Shots fired, or something.
