There is nothing worse than looking down at your smartphone and realizing that you're running out of juice. Okay, there are probably worse things, but a dead phone has got to rank pretty high up there. That's why many people carry around USB power banks, but being tethered to a battery block for an extended period of time isn't exactly fun either. That's why the ADATA A10050QC offers such a welcome change.

ADATA has been making these USB portable batteries for a number of years already, including bumping the power output beyond the 500 mA or 1.0 A that were standard at the time. Now, they're going even further, because the A10050QC supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology.

Just like on the Energen desktop charger, the QC 3.0 tech here means that you can top up the battery on your phone (or other mobile device) far more quickly than with a conventional charger. Indeed, if your phone supports it, you can get from completely empty to an 80% charge in just 30 minutes. That's up to four times faster than conventional power banks.

No more dangling a battery pack off your phone for over an hour to barely get 50% charge.

That Quick Charge 3.0 support is probably the biggest star of the show here, but the A10050QC comes with at least a couple of other notable features worth mentioning. First, you get not only a standard USB-A output to support practically everything, but there's a secondary USB-C output too for all your newer devices that use USB-C cables. And yes, of course you can use both at the same time.

Other highlights include the metallic body, backwards compatibility with Quick Charge 2.0, and a huge 10,050 mAh capacity (hence its name) by way of premium, Japan-made Panasonic power cells. That should be enough to top up most phones at least a couple of times, if not more.

The ADATA A10050QC High Speed Power Bank will retail for $44.99 in your choice of blue or grey as shown. Look for it on Amazon and Newegg soon.

ADATA Charges up the A10050QC High Speed Power Bank

Extra fast charging with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 plus dual ports outputting up to 4.6A/23W

Taipei, Taiwan – Nov. 30, 2016 – ADATA Technology, a leading manufacturer of high performance DRAM modules, NAND Flash products, and mobile accessories today launched the A10050QC power bank, the fastest power accessory released by the company to date. The product employs officially-integrated Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology to accelerate battery top up, and has two output ports – one USB-C and one USB-A. Input is USB-C. The 10050mAh power bank boasts an electroplated, textured design for easy grip mobility, and uses premium Japan-made Panasonic power cells alongside six-circuit protection to ensure robust safety for users, devices, and the environment.

Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0: up to four times faster than generic power banks
ADATA designed the A10050QC around Quick Charge 3.0 technology. With this feature, the power bank is 40% more power efficient than units that use previous Quick Charge 2.0, and can recharge select devices up to four times faster than power banks that lack any Quick Charge implementation. The A10050QC can fully charge a typical 5” smartphone from empty to 80% in only 30 minutes.

Dual ports, added convenience, and sync charge/discharge
Two output ports provide greater flexibility as users can charge two devices simultaneously. Furthermore, the power bank has USB-C and USB-A outputs for wider compatibility. The USB-C output supports up to 18W to speed up charging, and the two ports combined can handle 4.6A (typical power banks deliver 2.1A). The A10050QC has sync charge/discharge, meaning it can be safely recharged while simultaneously charging devices. For quick topping up of the power bank itself, the input supports up to 2.5A – higher than comparable products, and thus resulting in shorter refill times.

Smart voltage regulation
In addition to Quick Charge 3.0, ADATA engineers have also incorporated INOV technology on the A10050QC, standing for Intelligent Negotiation for Optimum Voltage. The power bank actively detects connected devices and alternates between 5V and 12V operation as needed to maximize power efficiency, reduce heat, and prolong power cell lifespan.

Premium components and highest safety standards
The A10050QC features Panasonic power cells made in Japan and proprietary Taiwan-made ADATA circuitry that provides six-faceted protection against overcharge, over-discharge, overvoltage, over current, overheating, and short circuiting. The stylish electroplated and textured does more than enable easy grip and mobility, passing strict fire and impact resistance testing to assure safe and long-lasting operation.
