Remember Peach, the new iOS-exclusive social networking app that I told you about just a few short weeks ago? Well the developers have released a Peach web app that’s more of a companion to the iOS app than it is a fully functional version of the service, but it’s on the web! And you can use GIFs!

The Peach web app, as it is now, doesn’t include the magic words, the stick figure drawings, or the ability to add friends, and you still need to have the iOS app the sign up in the first place, so don’t get excited if you’re not rocking an Apple product. An Android app is apparently in the works, though.

Is it too late, though? Peach’s downloads have plummeted in the weeks since its release, and since the web app doesn’t work without the iOS app, it’s not like it’s opening itself up to new markets. The Android app will do just that, but we don’t even have an ETA, and you could argue that the service is already on life support.

You could also argue that, if Peach is already dead, it’s not the app’s fault. The app is probably pretty alright, but it’s also another social network introduced into a world that already has too many, and our short attention spans certainly didn’t help its chances.
