The objective for any HTPC is always the same: smooth HD playback of your media content. It may be a simple task, but it becomes difficult when you are minimizing noise and power consumption while maintaining smooth HD playback. The ZOTAC Zbox continues to be a great option for those who want to avoid the hassle of building their own HTPC.
The new ZOTAC Zbox Nano ID84 moves up to the Nvidia GeForce GT 520M graphics chip more accustomed to being in a laptop. You still get the great package you have come to expect from Zbox, including 802.11n WiFi, media remote, Bluetooth 3.0 support, VESA mounts, and more. This time you get the Intel Atom D2550 (1.86 GHz dual core CPU) and the Nvidia GT 520M IGP. These should use very little power as a platform like this is normally found in 11-inch netbooks.
This should replace previous Zbox Nano models with improved graphics leading the way. It’s about minimizing space without sacrificing graphical ability or increasing power consumption. This great little Zbox will most likely have an AMD brother in the near future.
