Although benchmarks seem to be conflicted as to real performance increases with extra memory, ZOTAC has decided to keep up with the status quo by releasing their own one gigabyte powered products. Based on the 9800GTX+ core, it’s pretty much the same old same old, but of course, with 1GB of memory vs the usual 512MB. According to ZOTAC…

“Packing our ZOTAC GeForce 9800 GTX+ with 1GB of graphics memory allows ZOTAC to deliver higher performance to our mainstream customers, especially with new demanding DirectX 10 games,” said Carsten Berger, marketing director, ZOTAC International. “The added graphics memory will be most beneficial to gamers that play at higher-resolutions in high-quality modes.”
