Netflix has House of Cards, Hemlock Grove, and the upcoming return of Arrested Development. Amazon has the Zombieland series. Hulu has a bunch of stuff that I can't remember. Even Xbox Live is trying to resurrect Heroes. Exclusive content is the order of the day, so it's no surprise that YouTube is looking to follow suit.

YouTube could begin offering a paid subscription model for various channels that host special content. This could launch as early as this week, with over 50 channels involved and subscriptions starting at $1.99. YouTube didn't have any official announcements to make, but they did confirm that they're looking into a subscription platform.

Rumors that YouTube would offer premium comment for a fee have been going around for some time, with speculation dating back years. This would allow those who create content for the website to easily monetize that content, which could further shift the entertainment paradigm. It's a good time to subscribe to our YouTube Channel wouldn't you agree?
