I’ve been very fortunate that World of Warcraft has never been able to ensnare me with its enticing siren song, but others aren’t so lucky. For those of you who
have Stockholm Syndrome
love to roam Azeroth, you’ll be pleased to know that the latest expansion, Mists of Pandaria, has been scheduled for a September 25 launch date. The Mists of Pandaria introduces the new land of Pandaria, which is home to the Pandaren, a race of giant pandas. There is no greater testament to the success of WoW than the fact that Blizzard isn’t even trying anymore and yet this expansion is going to fly off shelves, both literally and figuratively.
I’m being unfair, though, as Mists of Pandaria started as an April Fool’s joke that Blizzard simply saw through to fruition. The new expansion will bring the monk class and will be available in standard retail ($39.99), collector’s edition ($79.99), and digital deluxe ($59.99). The special editions include things like a special mount, pet, and special goodies for Diablo III, while the collector’s edition throws in a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff.
