Why do people insist on telling you their entire life story when you don’t know them? Or, worse yet, telling you someone else’s life story when you barely know the person you’re talking to much less the person they’re talking about? This is one of the reasons I try to keep my intros to a minimum…and you can just skip over them if you don’t care. When you’re in a face-to-face conversation with someone you’re simply trapped. A word of advice, especially if you’re one of those people…if the only response you get in the pauses of your oh-so-important story is “uh-huh” or “yeah”, then you’re boring the pants off your supposed listener, and you should change to virtually any other subject than your best friend’s neighbour’s dog’s vet appointment. Seriously.
