The second I saw these, my jaw dropped. And I may have even drooled a little. This is simply one of the most brilliant things I’ve seen in quite possibly forever. I would love to use rechargeable batteries, I really would. But I have this thing where I put stuff places and never see it again. Like battery chargers. I have at least a half-dozen rechargeable batteries sitting on my desk, and no earthly idea where the heck their charger is. Sure, I can buy another one, but, darn it, I already OWN them. I hate spending money on things I already own!

So then along comes these USBCELL batteries and it’s like they were making them just for me. There are no chargers to keep track of; everything is included in the battery. All you have to do is flip back the cap to expose the USB connector, and voila! Charging! When the cap is closed, they become a AA battery you can use in any device you need. I am in awe.

Each one is a NiMH Battery 1.2v 1300mah. Using USB, they can be charged to 90% capacity in five hours. You can also use them in a smart NiMH charger at 250ma for seven hours (providing you know where yours is). They can be recharged hundreds of times (about 500) before they need to be replaced, which adds up to huge savings for you as well as a win for the environment. You can also partially charge them or top off the charge without fear of screwing them up.

Pricing on these is incredibly reasonable. They start at £12.95 ($14.99 US) each. Not bad, really. Especially for people like me who can always find their batteries, but can rarely charge them.
