The Breville Radio Toaster at first blush seems to be one of the neater things I’ve run across lately. But then I started thinking… I really don’t like morning radio. Not that I only eat toast in the mornings, but still.

Then I read further, and it’s got an aux-in so you can plug in an MP3 player. Now I really want one! I’ve got fairly limited counter space in my kitchen, and the stereo in the living room has to be way too loud in order for it to be heard in there. So now I can have music without using any more space than my current toaster does. I call that winning all the way around.

The two-slice toaster features variable width slots for those of you who also like bagels, a reheat and defrost function, mid-cycle cancel and blue illuminated toasting controls. The radio allows you to preset up to ten stations and has an illuminated digital display. The only thing I don’t like is the preset equalizer, but I suppose I can deal with that. It’s only available preorder right now, but can be had for £49.99 with free delivery.
