You know what’s funny? They say that you should reduce your stress as much as possible before doing something traumatic like having surgery. Neat idea, but then it never works out that way. At my first physical therapy appointment this morning, I find out my insurance has changed to where I only pay the co-pay for the first visit, then they don’t cover anything until I fulfill my deductible so further appointments are totally on my dime, payable at time of visit. Then I get a call from the hospital, wherein I find out that I am expected to pay my portion of the bill when I arrive for surgery. I’ve got to admit, it was not even a little on my radar that I might have to shell out upward of $1,000 next week. I don’t have it. Luckily, they’re working with me on a payment plan. But with those two things, plus the rapid way time is passing, my blood pressure is pretty much through the roof. Fabulous.
