The best-laid schemes of mice and men, often go awry. Thus went my night last night. I foolishly thought I had a brilliant plan for taking an actual shower instead of the sponge baths and washing my hair in the kitchen sink I’ve been doing since I had surgery. Since the cast has been removed and I’m supposed to start putting weight on my foot, I figured I could manage the shower if I did it carefully enough. I was incorrect. See, if my shower was on the main floor of my house, it might have worked. But it’s not; it’s in my basement (my house is weird…on the main floor I have a tub only, and in the basement I have a shower only). Which meant doing steps. Which it turns out I am not ready for, even if I sit on my behind and scoot like a toddler. I chalked it up as a learning experience as I swallowed some pain pills, and took another sponge bath.
