Things that never occur to me until entirely too late: my skin does not play well with direct sunlight. In fact, I am (and should be) that woman you see whose skin blinds you with its whiteness regardless of the season. It's not like I don't know this, and I am religious about using sunblock whenever I'm going to be out somewhere like the beach or a park. However, it never occurs to me to use it when I'm working. Because apparently in my head, the sun is different then. It is not. By the time I got home last night, my arms, legs, forehead and neck were starting to radiate heat. Today I get to work inside, but it'll be an adventure since I'd really prefer my clothes not actually touch me. Used to be I thought I'd learn, but I'm guessing at my age it's just not gonna happen.
