The News: Record-Setting Edition Beth Snyder July 6, 2012 Today we officially reached the highest temperature we’ve had since 1936. It was five degrees warmer than the official temperature according to the thermometer in my dining room. Supposedly we’ve got 1-2 more days, and then it cools off about 15 degrees to make it only about five above average for this time of year, and I can’t wait. I’m working all weekend, half of it in a building where they never turn on the air for us, the other half outside. On the other hand, I have bought enough Gatorade I’m fairly sure I singlehandedly increased their stock by about a dollar, so there’s that. Stay cool (or warm, if you’re in the southern hemisphere)!
