My friend and I were just sitting in the back yard with our coffee when the next-door neighbour calls over the fence that he's sorry to interrupt us, but he saw a bear in the back yard about a half hour ago. The funny thing is, this isn't uncommon, it's only funny because he found it necessary to apologize. So we have decided today we probably shouldn't leave the back door open for the dog when we leave. Some people might see this as a disadvantage or scary, but I love it. Where else can I go where nature is so up close and personal?
