Did My Job Too Well

Don’t you hate when you do that? The show was interesting the first couple of times, but then I got sick of having to pay attention and wrote a little program to loop the graphics I need to run instead of having to do them manually. Which is great, but now I’m bored. Never happy, huh? But at least I have work! On the whole, I have to say this one goes in the “win” column. There are worse things to have to watch for the weekend…for instance, I could’ve been stuck with basketball!

There is Hope for Spring!

I woke up this morning to blue skies, sunshine, almost 40F, and my daffodils are almost four inches tall! I know that we’ve more than likely got one more snowstorm coming, because that’s how it works here, but almost all the signs are in place. Only thing missing is seeing my first robin, but that can’t be too long now. I feel like I’ve just crawled out of a huge, dark cave. In fact, the other day on the news they said we got more sunshine in the first few days of March than we had in all of December. I like it!

Cabin Fever

The sun was out all day, and it’s comparatively warm…but I want more! This is the time of year with which I have a love/hate relationship. Love, because it is getting warmer and the days are getting longer. Hate, because it’s not going fast enough! I think we’re down to about four inches of snow in the yard, but I want it all gone now. Patience may well be a virtue, but it is not one I happen to possess.

Superbowl Sunday

Don’t ask me why I dislike Indiana so much, I just do. I’m sure it’s a perfectly lovely place, and what I’ve seen of Indianapolis while driving through it on I-65 it seems like a decent enough city. But…I’ve got to go Saints on this one…I like the Gulf coast much better. In fact, whenever I drive through Indiana that’s where I’m heading. So, may the best team win. As long as it’s New Orleans.

Groundhog Day

Well, as most of us know by now, the stupid rodent saw his shadow, so we’re in for six more weeks of winter. My gut reaction is to swear profusely, but then I started thinking. It’s February 2nd…how would it be remotely possible to NOT have at least six more weeks of winter? I mean, obviously it depends on where you live, but where I’m from we often have fresh snowfall in mid-April (and on a few memorable occasions, in early May), so it’s not really a huge stretch. Doesn’t mean I have to like it, of course, but it isn’t a surprise.
