Holy Shopping Day, Batman!

Wow. We went everywhere today! And actually accomplished some good things. Umbrella strollers, shoes, spring jackets, umbrellas, and a couple of new bags for the kids for vacation, and I got a couple of new pairs of pants and a new mouse among other things. Plus between last night and tonight we’ve got our tickets booked for the aquarium and museum, as well as afternoon tea at the American Girl cafe. Yes, in case you were wondering, I have completely lost my mind. I’m going on vacation with my niece and her family to Chicago for four days. Three adults and three children, the oldest of whom is four, and me on crutches. It’ll be an adventure!

I don’t know what it is today, but I have absolutely no energy and am interested in doing nothing but watching TV. If you know me, you know how weird that is. But I figured I’d best haul myself off the couch and get the first post of the day done since I’m running really late.

Or insanity, depending on how you look at it. I am in at stupid o’clock because there is a pit party before the first show. It’s OK, I obviously have my laptop and an internet connection, so if nothing else I can do random searches for things to see where it takes me. Sometimes that can be fun.

I Fixed The Printer!

No one is more shocked or amazed than I am! The rollers were out of alignment, and I actually managed to put them back. Don’t ask me how…I was tinkering last night at 4am while I wasn’t sleeping, and all of a sudden it was taking sheets of paper individually again. Bonus!

Site Updates: A Rant

I shan’t name any names to protect the ignorant, but I frequent this particular site which has message boards. This week, they “updated”. Mind you, they “updated” two years ago and there are still things that were broken then that have yet to be fixed by their IT team. The site is run by a corporation most of you have heard of…they have several websites as well as cable TV channels. Their IT department is probably the most incompetent I’ve yet run across, which is saying something. Anyway, they “updated”. Now, the only way to view the site is to log in. Every time you navigate away from the site you are automatically logged out. A login lasts approximately six clicks, and then you have to log in again. The only way to “fix” the problem is to log out, delete all cookies, clear the cache, then go back to log in, but instead of doing so, click on the “forgot your password” link so it is reset via email. Then you can stay logged in for sometimes as many as a dozen clicks without having to go through the whole process again. Ah…improvements. If only they were….
