Did My Job Too Well

Don’t you hate when you do that? The show was interesting the first couple of times, but then I got sick of having to pay attention and wrote a little program to loop the graphics I need to run instead of having to do them manually. Which is great, but now I’m bored. Never happy, huh? But at least I have work! On the whole, I have to say this one goes in the “win” column. There are worse things to have to watch for the weekend…for instance, I could’ve been stuck with basketball!

The Snow is Gone

Or at least all but the piles at the corners of the driveway and sidewalk. It rained for most of yesterday and melted it all away! I couldn’t be more excited…it’s no secret if you’ve followed these posts for more than ten minutes that I hate winter. I’m sure we’ve still got one more snowstorm in store since that’s how it works here, but for now it’s been near 50F and my daffodils are almost blooming. I’ll take it!

My Printer Is Possessed

That is the only logical explanation left. All of a sudden, it has decided that each sheet of paper is approximately six sheets thick, thus it grabs that many to print. Of course, that many won’t go through the machine, so it jams. But if I have only one sheet in the tray to try to trick it, it won’t take it in at all, and still tells me I have a paper jam. Might be time to retire it, although being me I’m going to try to fix it until it is broken so horribly beyond recognition that giving it a decent burial would be the only humane thing.

I’m Back, and With Fabulous News!

I’ve pulled yet another disappearing act, sorry. There is family stuff going on that requires my presence out of town periodically for a few days at a time, but it should be getting better soon. My niece and her husband found out yesterday the three children they’ve been fostering since last April are officially going to be their adopted children, most likely by the end of the month! I couldn’t be more excited, since my niece is more like my little sister…she and I are closer in age than her mother and I. So while I apologize for my absence (again), I must say I was very happy to have been present for that particular phone call from the case worker!

Nothing To Say

It happens sometimes. I sit here staring at a blank screen for several minutes and nothing leaps to mind. So…reviews. I’ll try to make this one a touch longer than normal, since if I get to a second post it will be very late. New equipment at work makes for much longer hours to program it.
