My Printer Is Possessed

That is the only logical explanation left. All of a sudden, it has decided that each sheet of paper is approximately six sheets thick, thus it grabs that many to print. Of course, that many won’t go through the machine, so it jams. But if I have only one sheet in the tray to try to trick it, it won’t take it in at all, and still tells me I have a paper jam. Might be time to retire it, although being me I’m going to try to fix it until it is broken so horribly beyond recognition that giving it a decent burial would be the only humane thing.

Finally Scheduled!

I was beginning to think we’d be celebrating another milennium before my workers’ comp. hearing got scheduled, but much to my amazement the letter came today. It’s going to be near the end of March. Not bad, altogether, considering it will be exactly four months and 14 days since I got hurt. With any luck at all the mediator will see how silly it is that they denied my claim and I’ll be getting my knee fixed. I’m not holding my breath, but I am holding on to hope.

Wow…Talk About Sleep!

Yesterday I made a trek to the drugstore and picked up all the cold/flu/allergy medicine any ten people could ever hope to have. Turns out they’re having a sale this week, and all store-brand products are buy one, get one free. At any rate, I did my research to make sure I wouldn’t die and took a bunch of stuff, but also set the bottles on my nightstand so I could take more at the appropriate time without having to get up. Thus it is 15 hours later and I feel like a whole new person!

I Think It’s Monday

I have absolutely no sense of time any more. My life consists of waking up, eating some soup and taking some more cough syrup with codeine, and sleeping again. Repeat every 4-6 hours. At least I got sick when there isn’t any work I can do…just have to get over this before Friday.

Always An Adventure

My home internet connection has been out since last night. My cable provider sent an “escalation” tech today (a truly fabulous man, who went above and beyond what he was supposed to for me), and we collectively determined the problem was in my laptop. Interestingly enough, when I brought said laptop to work I was able to immediately connect. Again. It seems my only reliable home option is going to be dialup again.
