Working for the Weekend

Just got my call this morning, and apparently I’m doing a show this weekend. Four performances in three days, doing what I normally do for hockey games for a monster truck thing. Should be interesting. Now to fill in the next couple of days with something other than sitting in front of the TV!

Roller Coaster Day

But not in the fun way. First phone call of the day from the occupational health office telling me my records will be available for me to pick up on Friday. Excellent! Second call from the lawyer, wherein I found out he’s not very hopeful I might win my appeal, and doesn’t recommend hiring him or anyone to fight it. Not so excellent. Will now spend the rest of the day contemplating career choices that will allow me to stay on crutches forever, and praying for health care reform so pre-existing conditions no longer automatically exclude you from coverage.

Finally Scheduled!

I was beginning to think we’d be celebrating another milennium before my workers’ comp. hearing got scheduled, but much to my amazement the letter came today. It’s going to be near the end of March. Not bad, altogether, considering it will be exactly four months and 14 days since I got hurt. With any luck at all the mediator will see how silly it is that they denied my claim and I’ll be getting my knee fixed. I’m not holding my breath, but I am holding on to hope.

One A Day Is Not Enough

No matter how much my poor, abused, ancient laptop may hate it, it appears that we have become popular enough that I simply have to do two posts a day again or the inbox will overflow and take over the world. So be it…I’m certainly not complaining, and more reviews and stuff doesn’t suck, right? I just wish I could give you even a ballpark estimate of when they might come, but unfortunately my life dictates that we will be playing post lotto for a while yet. Usually I’m pretty consistent with the first one, getting it posted somewhere between 11am and 2pm EST, but the second one is a total crapshoot depending on a lot of factors.

She’s Baaack…

I figured since I’m getting behind again and my internet connection has been pretty darn good lately (knock on wood), I’d come back. Besides, there should be something for those of you who don’t work regular hours, or who live in a part of the world other than mine, where right now IS regular business hours.
