Connected Again

An improvement to my usual disappearance is that I now can be out of town and still post! The family members I keep visiting have not only gotten an internet connection, but recently also added a wireless router. So while my post times may be erratic due to their schedules, at least you’ll get reviews while I’m here.

Taxes DONE!!

Thus ends the process that started with the horrifying attempt to use TurboTax. I ended up going with H&R Block at home online. Easy to use, free federal, $9.95 for my state, free e-filing for both, direct deposit. Best part: 40 minutes start to finish. Refund to hit my account in 8-10 days. I really wish I’d have done it in the first place…would’ve saved me no end of stress. Oh well, had I gotten my refund earlier I would’ve spent it on something silly like paying bills. Now I’ll be using it to go on a mini-vacation with my niece’s family. (And also to pay some bills! Don’t worry, Mom!)

Superbowl Sunday

Don’t ask me why I dislike Indiana so much, I just do. I’m sure it’s a perfectly lovely place, and what I’ve seen of Indianapolis while driving through it on I-65 it seems like a decent enough city. But…I’ve got to go Saints on this one…I like the Gulf coast much better. In fact, whenever I drive through Indiana that’s where I’m heading. So, may the best team win. As long as it’s New Orleans.

Did anyone else sing the days of the week song in grade school? When I woke up this morning it was stuck in my head. “Today is Tuesday, today is Tuesday. What shall we do today?” Gah. I REALLY need to get out more.

The Sun Is Back!

Wow…two days in less than a week! Of course, I got up a bit later so it’s not shining directly on my desk any more, but I can still see it. It’s pretty wrong, but I’m actually a little disappointed to be going to work today because I’ll miss out on a fair portion of the sunlight, but I can’t say I’m disappointed to be making even a small amount of money again. I’ve got a pretty important payment due in two weeks, and at this point I don’t see how I’m going to make it.
