Site Updates: A Rant

I shan’t name any names to protect the ignorant, but I frequent this particular site which has message boards. This week, they “updated”. Mind you, they “updated” two years ago and there are still things that were broken then that have yet to be fixed by their IT team. The site is run by a corporation most of you have heard of…they have several websites as well as cable TV channels. Their IT department is probably the most incompetent I’ve yet run across, which is saying something. Anyway, they “updated”. Now, the only way to view the site is to log in. Every time you navigate away from the site you are automatically logged out. A login lasts approximately six clicks, and then you have to log in again. The only way to “fix” the problem is to log out, delete all cookies, clear the cache, then go back to log in, but instead of doing so, click on the “forgot your password” link so it is reset via email. Then you can stay logged in for sometimes as many as a dozen clicks without having to go through the whole process again. Ah…improvements. If only they were….

People Are Funny

I wish I could tell you the story that has me giggling, but I would be incapable of changing the names to protect the innocent. Mostly because there are no innocents. But have you ever noticed how incredibly ignorant and/or obtuse some folks can be? Now would be a great time to take a moment for yourself to remember one of your favourite idiot stories. See…now we’ve all had a giggle, which makes it a pretty darn good day!

Hey Look! Another Product Release!

I don’t think there are enough reviews of the newest offering from Intel to make an entire post, but there very well may be. I’ll start off with what I’ve got, anyway, and it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if there was a section of reviews tomorrow as well, and maybe even the next day. As always, each site’s name is the link to its review of the Intel Core i5-661 Clarkdale.

Football and Hockey in the Same Day!

I’m in sports heaven…have been for two days, really, since yesterday was college football day as well as an AHL game AND a major NHL game (two wins and a huge loss there), and today is NFL and another AHL game. The best part about fall is having decent sports to watch again!

Some People Should Not Be Allowed

I was going to finish that with “to…”, but I realized the short form works well. You know the people I mean. The ones who as you listen to them talk you’re amazed they remember to breathe? Who are so ignorant it’s sometimes physically painful to even consider correcting them? An actual post from a cooking forum I frequent: I’m out of breadcrumbs, but I have bread. How can I make that work?

Seriously. I’m going to quick get these reviews posted so I can go beat my head against a wall.
